A Look Inside Our Walnut Creek Clinic

Performance Sport Care combines a private clinical treatment space with an on-site strength rehabilitation facility. The reason is practical: when a patient needs to move from hands-on treatment into supervised loading, we can do both in the same place.

You do not need to be an athlete to be cared for like one. The same floor is used by lifters working back to a barbell and by people who want to get through a workday, manage stairs, play golf, or pick up a grandchild without back or neck pain.

The Evaluation and Treatment Space

This is where the history, examination, imaging review, hands-on treatment, and clinical decisions happen.

A treatment room can tell us a great deal. But for many active patients, the next question is what happens when the injured area is asked to work.

The Strength Rehabilitation Floor

The rehabilitation area is purpose-built for progressive loading.

It includes equipment from manufacturers such as Atlantis, Sorinex, Cybex, and Arsenal Strength, along with dumbbells up to 100 pounds and kettlebells up to 2.5 pood.

The point is not the equipment by itself. The point is being able to choose the right exercise, watch how it is performed, adjust the load, and progress it as the patient becomes ready for more.

From Light Rehabilitation to Real Load

For one patient, rehabilitation may begin with a two-pound weight and a precise shoulder movement. For another, it may progress to a loaded barbell.

We do not make everyone train heavily. We make the loading appropriate to the person, the injury, and what that person needs to return to.

What a Supervised Session Record Looks Like

Every supervised session is recorded — the exercises, the loads, the sets, the repetitions, and the rest between them — so progression is based on what you actually did rather than on what anyone remembers.

Reading across a single row shows how a set is built: the pull-down climbs from 60 pounds for 20 repetitions to 120 pounds for 10, with 45 seconds between sets. The dips run the other way, because the number is assistance — 210 pounds of help falling to 170 as the patient carries more of their own weight. That is what adjusting the work as it happens actually looks like on paper.

Why the Facility Exists

Pain relief matters. But if the goal is to return to lifting, running, sport, work, or demanding daily activity, the body eventually has to tolerate those demands again.

That is why the treatment space and the rehabilitation floor are under the same roof. Our Approach explains how the two fit together.
